Safety Items Checklist

An introduction to the training, and why safety is important for the children in our care.

In this section, we will go through the checklist item by item, and learn how to fill out the checklist, and what to look for when determining if an item is in compliance or not.

Put your skills to the test and see if you can determine why the areas pictured on the slides are not in compliance.

In this section we will discuss what to do when an item is not in compliance, and what the most common non-compliances are that we see when completing the safety items checklist.

Learn safe sleeping tips and techniques for infants, and why safe sleeping is important.

Learn proper techniques for bathing an infant.

In this section, we will discuss how to correctly restrain a child in a car seat, and learn about different types of car seats and resources that are available to parents to check the installation of their car seats.

Learn about the safety rules that dictate the supervision of the client. Can a foster child be left alone at home? Find out!

This quiz consists of two questions that will check your knowledge of Part 2.  You are allotted one minute per question.

Congratulations! At this point in the training, you will have reviewed all the lessons and gained a significant amount of knowledge!  The last step of your experience will be to complete the Post-Test which is identical to the Pre-Test you completed at the beginning and will therefore evaluate how much you have learned.
